There is something powerful about a lioness. She is not frantic. She is not insecure. She is not confused about her identity. She moves with quiet confidence, knowing exactly who she is and what she carries.

I find myself reflecting more and more on simple things the quiet, everyday moments that shape who we are. Recently, one such reflection came alive again when I travelled home to Zimbabwe.

While waiting for my new ID, just after embracing the simplicity and rhythm of the Zimbabwean system, I met a young woman who reminded me why my work goes far beyond visas and paperwork.
